All reference librarians are technology trainers, educators and instructors these days. But what does it really mean to teach technology topics in public libraries? What can and should we teach? How does technology instruction fit into our broader mission and core responsibilities? What resources are available to use and to our clients? How do we become better presenters and instructors?
During today’s panel, we will hear from librarians representing variously sized communities. Hearing how librarians address these issues from differing perspectives and institutions and with differing resources should spur us all to reassess how we address issues of technology instruction.
Our goal is that we all leave asking more questions. We hope that this blog will serve as a resources to librarians across Massachusetts; please come back here to ask questions, share your successes, and reevaluate your less-than-stellar experiences.
